Microphones
Podium units are supplied standard with (1) Gooseneck-Mounted Switched Shure
Ball Microphone. The mic body slide switch
mutes the mic for privacy at the lectern. The attached cord allows you to wander around during your presentation.
Volume and Tone are on the mixer control panel built into the desktop.
Large sized units use the Shure MX418 with push-on push-off switch and
included ACTIVE indicator LED.
All units optionally include the standard SCI Twin Wireless Microphone
Package, with a Lavalier (a wide-response favorite of broadcasters worldwide)
and a handheld ball (a favorite of professional singers
worldwide), allowing the user total freedom of movement.
Audio Source Inputs
There are a minimum of (4) stereo audio source inputs provided on standard SCI-MITSU /
MIPSU systems. Each source may be selected from the mixer control panel located in the
desktop.
The source input locations are marked adjacent to the Source Select knob.
Selecting OFF mutes the output of all connected sources and should be selected
when no sources are connected. In the OFF or deselected position for each
connected component cueing can be accomplished via the respective headphone jack
if available in that component.
Usually components are stacked on the shelf provided for easy access
immediately under the lectern desktop but may be otherwise connected via
optional extension jumpers to the supplied input cables or panel jacks.
Select Source Channel 1 or 2 for the shelf inputs or Source Channel 4 for the
panel input jacks. Source Channel 3 is reserved for an external input such as a
paging or background music feed. Source 1 has priority over all others and will
mute 2, 3 & 4, when active.
Source 1 and 2 may be used in the Mono mode by connecting the supplied Mono
to Stereo “Y” converter between your component audio output and the stereo audio
inputs.
Source 4 is designed to accommodate either a laptop or camcorder on the
desktop. Use the supplied RCA Plug Stereo to Mono “Y” converter if your
camcorder or other connected device is monophonic. Your computer audio
line output may be connected to the Mini Stereo Phone Jack input but not while
the RCA inputs are populated.
Video
All video inputs follow the audio number and location scheme. Only audio is switched by the mixer, moreover, all Video is available all the
time regardless of the selected (active) audio.
If your SCI-MITSU / SCI-MIPSU has the option, you may use a computer RGBHV HD15
Pin output.
If your SCI-MITSU / SCI-MIPSU has the optional Wireless Video and Converter
package its converter transmitter should be plugged into the appropriate Video
outlet jack. If you are using a computer RGBHV HD15 Pin output it should be
connected to the converters RGBHV HD15 Pin input.
